Subject: Daniel West descendants

Daniel WEST was born ca 1786, probably Duplin County, NC and died probably
Sampson County, NC after 1850. At present Daniel's parentage is unknown, but
he may have been a son of Samuel WEST of both Duplin and Sampson Counties,
NC. Samuel WEST died after 1808, probably Duplin County, NC.

Daniel married Elizabeth EZZELL, daughter of Dennis EZZELL. Their children
were:

Owen WEST; Joshua WEST; Jane WEST who married John FREDERICK; Noah WEST who
married Charity [?]; Daniel WEST; Sarah WEST who married a HERRING; John
Rackley WEST; Elizabeth West who married 1. Peter Carlton and 2.
Daniel CULBRETH; Louisa who married James STRICKLAND; Isaac W. WEST who
some say was a minister, but so far have found no proof.

These folks are named in the order listed on a deed which offers proof of
their marriages. Duplin County, NC Deed Book 23, p174.

Mary WEST was a sister to the above brothers and sisters but is not on this
deed, nor did she sign off on one other deed that lists all the other
siblings. Mary married David F. RIVENBARK and the elder Daniel WEST was
living in the RIVENBARK household, Sampson County, NC, 1850.

There is one other question about this family that needs answering: Peter
CARLTON, first husband of Elizabeth WEST, deeded land to three of
Elizabeth's brothers (John Rackley, Noah and Daniel, Jr.) and identified
each of them as a son of Daniel, Sr. and a brother to his wife. Strange he
did not do that when deeding land to Isaac W. WEST.

Regret that I have no further information on these families at this time,
but when I do find additional info, will post to these lists.
