John,
I have deleted all information about that lookup but in trying to recreate it I think I messed up on Paul. In a single entry he is listed as both Paul and Phill. I believe his correct name is Phillip/Phil/Phill.

I can't find a thing as to who each of thee men belong to. There is nothing in three wills books, 2 deed books or any of the Heritage books.

I did find a bunch of Southerland men in # 175. This is a rather obscure book so maybe you will find something here that you don't have.

Southerland, Daniel, born 1749 in New Hanover County (Duplin was formed from New Hanover), died 1831 in Duplin County, married once unknown Newkirk in Duplin County, ancestral file # 04135.

Southerland, Philip/PHIL, born in Duplin County, died c1837 in Duplin County, married once Rachel Mallard in Duplin County. ancestral file # 04135.

Southerland, Robert, II, born 1722 in VA, died 1789 in Duplin County, married once Joyce Woodstock in VA. ancestral file # 04135.

Southerland, Robert, III, born 1747 in VA, died 1835 in Duplin County, married once 1777 Patience Touille (Twilley) in Duplin County. ancestral file # 04135.

Southerland, Thomas, born c1815 in Duplin County, died in AL, married once Margaret Ann ? c 1846 in GA (?). ancestral file # 60074.

Southerland, William Burton, born 1797 in Duplin County, died c1883 in Duplin County, married once Rhoda/Roda Southerland c1816 in Duplin County. ancestral file # 04135.

From a check on the ancestral file index:
04135 was submitted by Ella Francis Dodd, Box 217, Lovelady, TX 75851
60074 was submitted by Billie Slocum Thrasher, P.O. Box 958, Brandon, FL 33511
(this book was published in 1981 so these people may have to be tracked down)

Dee, please don't go to any trouble for this information. I am interested in the two Southerlands listed below. Do you have any information on who Paul's father was, and who was John's father. There were a lot of Southerlands in Duplin, and the Carr family married some of them. I don't have Paul listed and don't know which John this one is. If you can help, that would be great, but if not that is fine.
