I am trying to nail down the birth/marriage/death dates of SARAH BENNETT, who
was the daughter of Rev War soldier Thomas Bennett (Sr.). Sarah married a
Millard, for her father laet part of his estate to "the heirs of my daughter
Sarah Millard". Thomas died 1815. Sarah had preceded him in death. She was
probably one of the 3 females listed in Thomas' household on the 1784/86 and
1790 censuses, thus born around 1780? Which Millard did she marry?
Also seek much of the above info for Sarah's sister Rebecca Bennett Byrd/
Hines, who married John Byrd around 1799 and migrated to Muhlenberg county, Ky,
where Byrd died in 1808. Bennett/Byrd had 5 children prior to his death.....
John, Nathan, Eliza (Polly), Ann, Sally. Rebecca married Spencer Hines prior
to Aug 1819. John Byrd's estate was finally settled by Spencer Hines in
Muhlenberg County in Oct 1820. More info available to those interested.
Rebecca's brother Samuel Bennett migrated to Ky also, probably 1800 in same
movement with the Byrd's. Samuel was married to Mary (Polly) Cherry, dau of
Willis Cherry of Duplin. Their son, Bryant C. Bennett was sent back to Duplin
in 1827 with Power of Attorney from his father and Miles Sketoe, guardian of
Frederick Graddy, son of William Graddy. Bryant was to settle up the
inheritances for his father of Thomas'estate, Willis Cherry's estate, and the Graddy
estate.
Samuel died 1834 in Muhlenberg County. Polly had apparently preceded him,
before 1827. Much more info available to those interested.
