In Duplin County, Elizabeth JAMES was on the tax list of 1806 as owning 2070
(two thousand seventy) acres of land; she claimed five Black polls. Would
like to correspond with anyone who can tell me how this woman came to own
this much land? Who was her husband? Did she inherit the land from a
father, a relative? How was she related to Mary JAMES?

Any help/clues/sources appreciated and useful.
