Was your Wm. Beck, s/o John Beck and Elizabeth Whitfield, b abt 1746?
I don't know if he was son of John Beck 1746 or not. All I do know for sure
is that my gggrandmother's name was Ann Jane Beck (Moore 1st marriage)
Dickson and that she was from NC and her father's name was William Beck. She
married Lewis Dickson in January 1828 in Colbert County, Alabama. She was born in
NC about 1810. I do not know when or where she married ? Moore. The Dicksons
were originally from Duplin County, but moved to TN where Lewis was born to
Michael Dickson and Sene Williams, and then on to AL where Lewis was married
to Ann Jane Beck (Moore). The Dicksons were among the pioneer families of
Duplin. When the rest of the Dickson family moved to TN Lewis's aunt remained as
she was already married to James Pearsall. I would love to make a connection
between Ann Jane Beck and the Becks of Duplin County, but just haven't been
able to find the proof.
