Unfortunately these obits aren't online-but I was just playing witht the Herald's archives and found this which is related to the same family. I live in Durham and if I get a chance the next time I'm at the main library I'll get microfilm copies of the other two obits. for you. At least I think it's part of the same family the name Thurman is what I'm basing this belief on.

Ladd

ROXBORO - Mr. Michael Wayne Ladd, age 40, of 320 Johnny Palmer Rd., died Friday, July 2, 2004, from injuries sustained in an accident.

Mr. Ladd was a native of Person County, NC, son of Annie Weatherford Ladd of Roxboro, and the late Thurman Lee Ladd. He was employed with the City of Roxboro, and had volunteered with the Roxboro Fire Department, he was a former Boy Scout Leader for Troop #295, and an avid outdoorsman. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his mother, is his wife, Mrs. Deborah Palmer Ladd of the home; one son, Lance Corporal, Jason Wayne Ladd, stationed in Pensacola, Fla.; two daughters, Miss Samantha Lee Ladd of Roxboro and Miss Roseanne Lynette Ladd of the home; three brothers, Mr. Jasper Ladd, Mr. Roger Wilborn, and Mr. James Wilborn, all of Roxboro; and one granddaughter, Miss Destiny Ladd of Roxboro.

Mr. Ladd was preceded in death by one brother, David Rice.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, July 5, 2004, in the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Chris Sorenson and the Rev. Herbert Brown. Interment will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Bobby Dickens, Sr., Bobby Dickens, Jr., Donnie Dickey, James Hazel, Chris Palmer, and Travis Slaughter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roxboro City Employees.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Strickland Funeral Home and others times at the home of Bobby & Linda Dickens, 230 Johnny Palmer Road, Roxboro, NC 27574.
