I subscribed to this list about two year's ago, trying to find something
on my GOODWIN'S that were from Franklin, Co Nc. 1700's & I made my first
post last week on The history of my Goodwin's from there. But I have
deleted more this week (About How to Reply to these post) than I have
received in two year's.

I am for replying to "ALL": What do We subscribe for?? INFORMATION, & We
don't get that, when everyone reply's to only one person. Now I know Why
We haven't had much info.____"POP"

I would like to post a Texas response to this.

I understand you answering on a one to one. I am guilty of doing the same
thing.
But, quite honestly, I wish that all is posted to the list.
The reason being...I live in Texas and I am not familiar with that area.
Though I am only interested in Wake County, the county did not for a long
time have any thing on their web site....now is not much better...
I was told to get on this ring, and maybe by happenstance, some thing
would come up on my folks.
So far, nothing has come across on the HENDON surname.

But, when I read a reply.....that may or may not mean any thing to any one
else..
like the statement made about the husband being the expert on NC, then,
I think, maybe there is someone out there that can give me some direction
to go in....hopefully...

As we all know most of us are not searching our ancestors in the counties,
or
most of the time the states that we are living in. We are searching
somewhere
in Timbucto, and we don't know any thing about the area, its history...we
are just
plain ignorant of the area. Then to top it all off, it may be a year or two
before
we can get there, because we have to put that on our list of places we would
like to visit on vacation. LOL ....hoping we can slide that one right under
our
family and they will never know the difference....:>)))

Though HENDON is not a common name, it seems as though someone
somewhere would have heard of it, and be able to give some directions
as where is the next place to search, besides the local library. Mine does
not have the info I am looking for.

Thanks,

Marilyn Dunn-Jenkins
