These links are to a newspaper article on Casine from "The State" written in 1949 . I got it from the library inLouisburg but I replaced the photos of the house with my own . I don't know where you would find proof of Cornwallis camping there or even if it exists . I am a decendant of Jeremiah Perry and live just 3 or 4 miles from Casine . I go by there but don't stop other than to take pictures , but I'll see what the caretaker knows after Church today and call T.H Pearce and see what he has to say about it since he is the County Historian . Actually we have the annual "First Flag" memorial at the courthouse at 2:00 and I'll see him there . I've always been shown the woods east of the house and told that this was a field then and that a detachment from Cornwallis' army camped there .
