Hello Everyone,

SURNAMES: Landing, Harrell, Bratcher, Crafford, Boyce, Eure, Sparkman, Greene

I have access to Marriage Records of Gates County, North Carolina. However,
it only lists the Bride/Groom and Date. Does anyone out there have access to
a published version that would include, witness, surety, minister, person
giving consent, etc., as are available for other counties.

I am interested specifically in this first group of marriages , late 1700s,
early 1800s, the Landing/Landen/Landin spouses I believe were all siblings,
the children of James Landing in the 1780 tax records and 1790 census for
Gates, except maybe two Williams??:

Mary LANDING (Mary Harrell, widowof Mills below ) & Uriah EURE, Jr. Feb, 6,
1803

Pleasant LANDING & Josiah BOYCE, December 9, 1800

John LANDEN & Sarah BRATCHER, May 21, 1798

Mills LANDEN & Mary HARRELL, February 26, 1800. (This is mine, and I would
love to know if there was another Harrell participating in the ceremony,
hopefully Egbert or an oddball name!) Mary may have died between 1808 and
1810.

William LANDING & Rebecca HARRELL, July 28, 1804 (maybe died soon after
marriage?? or two Wm Landings)

William LANDING & Rachel CRAFFORD, March 2, 1804...FYI, I have found a
complete transcription of her father, William Crafford's will.

I don't know whether these last two marriages

Then, interestingly there is a 50 YEAR gap between the next set of marriages
that I can't figure out for the life of me unless they all moved away, then
one or more came back, that I submit for your information (yes MORE
Harrells). Since my Gates/Hertford ancestors (Michael Marsh & Elizabeth
(Landen) Marsh) moved to TN in 1827, my interest is more out of curiousity,
but hope it will be of interest to some of you.

In the Rootsweb Archives, Gates Co, I found this reference to a Landin,
witnessing a HARRELL marriage.

Dec. 1, 1887, by W. J. WIGGINS, J. P. at Elisha HARRELL
Witnesses: K. PARKER, H. CARTER & J. F. LANDIN
