Subject: [NCGATES] Wm Crafford Sr & Jr. 1814, Wills, Gates Co NC

Christi and other Researchers:
In a recent post I mentioned the marriage of Wm Landing and Rachel Crafford,
and that I had a will transcription mentioning their descendants.
One of the list subscribers asked me to list the names of the persons
mentioned. What I have are two wills actually. One for William Crafford Sr,
one for Jr. It appears that Wm Crafford Jr, may have died first, as he is
not mentioned in the will of Sr. (although he could have been given his share
in advance). Both wills were presented to court on the same session.
I do have a question. In Wm Crafford Jr's will her refers to his "sun place"
. A beach landing? Good waterfront property?? What would this be? He
directs it to be sold to pay debts.
This is from "Gates County, North Carolina Wills 1779-1807" by Sandra Lee
Almasy, Kensington Glen Publishing (did not copy the publication date). The
publication transcribes the wills in full. What follows is my own abstract
from pp. 38-39
