Ok, a couple of things...
Joshua Page b. 8 Jun 1847 was the son of Abraham Page and Sarah McLemore. He married Martha Ann Ashley in 1867 in Copiah County. The family moved to Texas and Joshua died 31 May 1919 in New Mexico. Is this the same one you have as being married to Hortence Pohautas??
There is a White Pond in South Carolina. It was in Barnwell District/County but now lies in Aiken County. I also have heard of the White Pond in North Carolina, but I haven't looked into it much.
The story I was given was Jacob Page came to US with Roger Williams. He married and had a son named Amos Page who married Hortence Pohautas. They had Tilda, Matthew, Joshua, and Abraham (who was said to be Abraham Page b. 1833) Abraham did have a sister Matilda, and brothers Matthew and Joshua, but also had siblings, William, Jacob, Selah, Narcissus, Elizabeth, and Mary Polly. Plus, Abraham's death certificate named his parents as Abraham Page and Sarah McLemore.
Big problem with the story is timing. Roger Williams was born in 1603 and died in 1683. If there is truth to the story, then Jacob probably would have to be born ca 1603 and possibly Amos then ca 1630? So, we are probably looking at several more generations before we finally arrive to Abraham Page, Sr who was born ca. 1790, NC. His father may have been Jacob Page of Barnwell also (who sources have his birth at ca. 1723.

Love to hear more family stories. Since so many have some version of it, there must be some truth, together we can find it!
