I have found that a NOAH SPEIGHT was listed as serving in the Haywood County NC Regiment, Sixteenth Company, on a Muster Roll for 1812-1814.

I would like to find more information on this man. He was from Gates/Perquimans County, NC, and married Jemima ELLIOTT in Perquimans March 14, 1815. He is in Perquimans on the 1820 census, Gates County NC in 1830, and is not found after 1830. I believe he died before 1840, and that his wife remarried.

His son, my wife's ancestor, William Henry Speight, married in 1840 in Perquimans County, and is on subsequent censuses as "Henry" Speight.

Is there a roster of the 16th Company, Haywood County Militia? I need info on how to get this man's War of 1812 record.

Thanks,
