I HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO FIND INFORMATION ON THE THE PIERCE CLAN ALSO. MY GREAT GRANDFATHER OWNED A GENERAL STORE IN WINTON AND A COTTIN GIN AND HE IS BURIED IN A SMALL PLOT THERE, BUT SOMEWHERE ALONG THE LINE THE NAME CHANGED TO PEARCE. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT MANY FAMILIES DURING THE 1850'S AND 60'S CHANGED THE SPELLINGS OF FAMILY NAMES. I BELIEVE HE IS WAS A DESCENDANT OF CINCINNATUS. I CANNOT RECALL HIS FIRST AND SECOND NAME BUT WILL FIND IT AND REPORT.
