Dear Sirs
My sixthgreatgrandfather James Oates was born 25/Dec/1757 in
Dobbs/Wayne County.
Could anyone do a lookup to see if James Oates was listed in the records of
Johnston County. James's grandfather Joseph Oates had land in Johnston County
North Carolina.James died March 1815.Joseph was listed in a Deed Book
25/May/1752 as being a resident of Johnston County and he sold land to a
gentleman from Duplin County. . It is Deed Book 2 pp. 139-140. Saw where he
had sold and bought land in Johnston County North Carolina. Even though the
land was in Johnston County it was written in the Sampson County Deed Book.
Would there be a record of it at the Johnston County Courthouse. Would anyone
be willing to do a lookup for record. Joseph Oates of Johnston County sold
land to Richard Blizzard of Duplin County. If there is anyone doing research
