Mary,
You should research the Harpers in Johnston Co. around Bentonville.
If I remember correctly, the old two story plantation house which was
used as a hospital at the Battle of Bentonville and is now preserved
at the Bentonville Battle Site was the old Harper plantation home.
Several Harpers married Whitleys in that area and several Whitleys
married Richardsons. I do have a name and address of a long time
Harper and Whitley researcher if you wish to contact her. Bentonville
is in the Southeast section of Johnston Co. and should be very near
Samson Co.
