Beth,
I have no idea on the logistics of the name, other than I do know that she came
from English ancestors. The name Phereby, Phereba, Ferby seem to be present
quite alot in my Lee line and Moves on down into my Jackson line. It does seem
to show mostly in N.C as far as I have seen as well.
Quick note, Phereby Lee being my 4th Great Grand Mother and her sister Seany
Jane was also a great grand mother. Seany Jane Lee married James Smith, their
daughter was Letha Smith Who married Jordon Jackson, Jordon the son of Lewis
Jackson , Lewis the son of Richard Jackson.......Jordon and Lethas Son was Wm.
Needham. Wm. Needham was the Grand son of Seany Jane and he married his grand
mothers, Sisters Daughter doubleing me back around into the David Lee Anna
Aldridge clan. Just wanted to throw that in tho it had nothing to do with your
question. Thanks
Steven
