I've been searching for the parents of Sarah SMITH, who m. Col. John BLAIR bef. 1790. They lived in Hawkins Co., TN and he died in 1794 leaving 2 infants. Sarah was the dau of John SMITH and Elizabeth (unk) supposed to be a first cousin of Lord CORNWALLIS?? When Sarah m. Joseph COBB in Grainger Co., TN 1797, a John SMITH was the suretor for the bond. Your John seems to have already died as well as John Jr. There must be another very similar SMITH family that arrived in Hawkins co. about the same time. Somebody Help, I'm getting desperate.
