Subject: [NCJohnston] Stancil's Chapel

I was born and raised just a few miles from Stancil's Chapel. It's not a
church, although a church is located there. It's pretty much just a
crossroads at the junction of highways 42 and 222. Stancil's Chapel
Elementary School, which I attended in the first and second grades, used to
be there. In fact, the building is still standing but is no longer a school.

Actually, I was born and raised about halfway in between Stancil's Chapel
and Moore's School House, which is on down the road on hwy 42 a few miles. I
would bet that many of you on the list have never heard tell of it, either.
At one time (before I was born), there was a school there. It was named for
one of my Moore ancestors.
