Does anyone know anything about an Andrew Antwine or Antoine who came
to Jones County during the 1700's? The earliest knowledge that I have
of him is on the Jones County tax list of 1779 where he is listed as
Andrew ANTOINE. Next, he is listed in the 1786 North Carolina census
as Andrew ANTWINE. And, lastly, in the Federal census of 1790 as
Andrew ANTWINE. His will was probated in Jones County court in
February 1808. I am descended from this individual as are many others
throughout the United States. I know of no documentation showing him
outside of Jones County, N.C.
