I repost this message at intervals hoping that someone new to the list will
see and respond. Has anyone done research on the LAMBERT and HICKS family
in Macon Co? Levi Lambert on 1830 census, by 1840 only Hannah Lambert as
head of house, Wm. M. Lambert and Samuel R. Lambert as heads of house. Wm.
and Sam. were brothers, it all probability Hannah is mother. Hannah's
sister was Elizabeth McDowell and aunt to Silas McDowell.(all these people
moved from Rutherford Co., NC ca mid to late 1820s) All Lamberts above
were tailors and seamstresses (sister Catherine Lambert is named up on 1850
census). Another sister, Cynthia Lambert married Wm. Washington Hicks ca
1827/28 possibly in Macon/Haywood Co.(cannot find a marriage license).
Their children were Leonard Adolphus (married Cynthia Tatham, one child
Addie who married Jonathan Phillips), Harriett who married James M. Monroe,
Wm. Montraville, and Samuel Washington. By 1860 all the above had moved
into Habersham Co., GA with the exception of Leonard Adolphus "Doff." Any
help appreciated. Sara.
