for Lea Holland-
You might want to look for this family (at least the Barnes children) in
Fannin
County, Georgia.

I have not looked at the 1870 recently, but know that their grandmother,
Nancy
Rogers Picklesimer, and uncles David and Jason were on the 1860 and 1870
Fannin
census. The widowed Nancy was with son David in 1860, and with her son
Jason in
1870 (p. 378 of 1870). By 1870, her other son Craton also was enumerated
in
Fannin.

Barnes families were also in Fannin then (Allen Barnes, age 52, b. NC;
Andrew, p.
425, age 62 NC; Martha p. 393 age 60 and John age 24 GA). The Martha of
1870
Fannin was enumerated in 1860 Union at household 484 while your James in
1860
Union was close, at household 449. In 1860, Crate Picklesimer (brother
of Nancy
Picklesimer Barnes) was at #447 in Union - this means both Picklesimers
and
Barnes families, on either side of your James Barnes in 1860, were
enumerated
1870 in Fannin.

(Fannin County was created from Union County in 1854, but there were
several
readjustments to the position of their shared border, so these families
may have
remained in the same house and just got enumerated in the different
jurisdictions).

Also, one of the Rogers relatives of Nancy Rogers Picklesimer (Frances
Rogers
Levasque) was listed in 1860 in Fannin County, but her body was taken to
NC for
burial in Jackson County in 1863, so burial of your Allen Barnes in NC
might not
necessarily mean he died in NC.
