Thanks everybody. Dawn or Irving, I have a question though is this survey
in book form?
I'm trying to put the bibliography in my FTM program and don't know what to
write.
Publisher, date, author????

This is from the survey done by Horace J. Hurst in 1942. Penland cemetery is
now so badly overgrown that it's hard to say what condition the grave sites
and tombstones are in.

Dear Lou Ann and other Down researchers:

The Downs family is hard to pinpoint in source records. I can't seem to
find them on any Macon co census.

I know his daughter Sallie was born in Parkersburg, WVA in 1863. They are
mention in the Macon Heritage book on pg 183. "They were VA natives who
emigrated to Macon Co with stops in TN and SC." George died in 1911 so he
should be there in 1910. ANY help?? Wife Sarah died in 1897 and buried
Macon co so they should be there in 1900 census too. Still, anyone know
where? EVEN 1870 and 1880 AIS census I can't find them either.
