I am looking for an EDWARDS family to see if they are possibly my gggreat grandparents.

IN 1860 Macon county census, PO Franklin, Tennessee Valley

Elizabeth "Betty" EDWARDS TIPTON is my brick wall. I can not tie her with parents tho on her death certificate, her parents are listed as John EDWARDS and Sarah unknown, both born in NC. Betty does not surface again until 1880 in Mitchell County, NC but is shown as age 24 which does not jive with these Macon County censuses but so many mistakes on those. Where were the older children before in 1860? So any help would be greatly appreciated.
