No, you didn't miss anything but our Travel and Tourism Director resigned
and there is a lady filling in for the county until we find a replacement.
She evidently got the wrong one....can you tell me what color the brochure
was? The one you should have gotten is medium beige in color and lists
publications done by the Martin County Historical Society (MCHS) only.

The Genealogical Society books are published by the Martin County
Genealogical Society (MCGS) and they are currently out of brochures. If you
will visit the travel and tourism website (that I mentioned in my e-mail
several days ago to NC Martin)....at www.visitmartincounty.com you will see
books listed for both societies.....however; it has been brought to my
attention that our latest publication Martin County NC Abstracts of Deed
Books D and E - 1802-1810 is NOT listed - it is priced at $30.00.....and you
enclose $3.50 for postage and also add 7% sales tax if you live in North
Carolina to the $30.00 bringing the total to: $35.60 (if my addition is
correct).

Also when I checked the website two or three of the books published by the
MCGS are listed under the MCHS headline - I'm working on getting our
webmaster to correct both problems. There has been no one in the past asked
to update our webmaster or bring mistakes to their attention so I have
appointed myself to do so. Hope this helps.
