Mary Louise Washburn Vaughn, 83, of Orchard St., died Sunday, September 3, 2000 in The McDowell Hospital. Born in McDowell County to the late Robert and Lola Nelson Washburn, she was a homemaker and a member of Old Fort Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving is her husband, William Vaughn; a daughter, Patricia Vaughn Sloop, of Mayodan; a sister, Elizabeth Owenby of Nebo; and several nephews and nieces.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 pm in the Old Fort Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home. The Revs. Lattie Slagle, Milton Hollifield, Dean Owenby and Doug McGee will officiate and burial will follow in Cherry Springs Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-8:30 pm at Kirksey Funeral Home, Old Fort. Kirksey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
