Jimmy Alvin Haynes, 51, of Fairview Road, died Saturday, August 5, 2000 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in McDowell County to Helen Gilliam Haynes of Marion and the late Alvin Seagle Haynes, who died July 2, 2000, he was a construction foreman with Johnson Controls Company. He was a former employee at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are four sons: Todd and Marc Haynes, both of Greenville, SC, and Jamie and Shawn Haynes, both of Palm Bay, FL; and one brother, Stanley Haynes of Nebo.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 8, 2000 at 2 pm in the McCall Memorial Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home. The Rev. Taylor Latham officiated and burial was in McDowell Memorial Park. The family received friends Monday from 7-8:30 pm at the funeral home. Kirksey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
