Ted Maxwell Trinks, age 73 of Ashworth Road, Marion, died Sunday, September 16, 2001 at his residence. He was a native and life long resident of McDowell County. He was the son of the late John H. and Mattie England Trinks. He was employed with Broyhill Furniture for 22 years, and a veteran of the United States Army. He was of the Baptist Faith, and attended Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Black Mountain. In addition to his parents he is predeceased in death by two sons, Marvin Trinks and Kenny Trinks, his sister Bertha Elliott, and brother Jack Trinks.
He is survived by his wife Betty Jo Romine Trinks; four sons: Jack Trinks of Asheville, Terry Trinks, Darryl Trinks, and Garvin Trinks and his wife, Louanne Trinks, all of Marion; three daughters: Glenda Vess and Polly Trinks of Marion and Mary Finley and husband Brandon Finley of Old Fort and his grandson Max Vess of Marion. He is also survived by his brothers Lloyd Trinks and Harold Trinks both of Marion, Larry Trinks of Black Mountain and Roy Trinks of Belle Chasse, LA.; and his sisters Pearl Dawson of San Diego, CA, June Serpas of Baton Rouge, LA, Opal Matthews of Mt. Morris, MI, and Ruby Anderson of Marion.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday September 19, 2001 at 2:00 PM in McCall Memorial Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home, Marion. Rev. Roscoe Briggs will officiate, and burial will follow in Ridgeway Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, Marion. The family received friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday September 18, at Kirksey Funeral Home, Marion.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of McDowell County Inc. at 218 Logan Street, Marion, NC 28752, or to The Shriners Hospital at 2100 N. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Kirksey Funeral Home, Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
