Lillie Mae Swann Arrowood, 71, of Marion, died Thursday, September 20, 2001 at The McDowell Hospital. Born in McDowell County to the late John and Hattie Greer Swann, she was retired from Marion Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of nearly 57 years, John E. Arrowood; three sons: Rodger E. Arrowood and wife, Judy, Ricky D. Arrowood and wife, Terry, and John Keith Arrowood and wife, Lakie, all of Marion; a brother, Gus Swann, of Marion; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Saturday, September 22, 2001 at Westmoreland Chapel. The Rev. Walker Toney officiated and burial was in Ridgeway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 5:30-7:30 on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association of NC Western Region PO Box 2702 Asheville, NC 28802. Westmoreland Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
