Tulla Simmons Crouch, 92, of Nebo, died Monday, October 8, 2001 at Autumn Care of Marion. Born August 20, 1909, in McDowell County to the late Charlie H. and Bessie Pyatt Simmons, she was a retired dietician with Nebo School after 32 years of service and a lifelong member of the Nebo First Baptist Church. She was active in community service for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, J. J. Crouch and her sister, Mary Dyson.
Survivors include two sons: Bobby Crouch of Nebo, and Donald Crouch of Gulfshores, AL; a brother, Lee Simmons, of Nebo; two sisters: Vivian Ingram and Anna Sisk, both of Nebo; a brother-in-law, John Dyson, of Marion; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 am on Thursday, October 11, 2001 at Nebo First Baptist Church. The Rev. Cecil Lovelace officiated and burial was in Nebo First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 5:30-7 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society Suite 100 Building C 31 College Place Asheville, NC 28801. Westmoreland Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
