Ray Mike Arrowood, age 73, of 604 6th Street, Clinchfield, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000 in The McDowell Hospital. Born in McDowell County to the late Harvey and Martha Huffstetler Arrowood, he was a retired employee of Great Lakes Carbon Plant where he worked for 31 years; was a carrier for The McDowell News and a member of East Marion Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nora Anderson Arrowood; one son, Michael Arrowood and his wife, Sherry, of Marion; one daughter, Sandra Williams and her husband, Jackie, of Marion; two sisters, Mary Sue Michaels of Valdese and Loney Rhom of Glenwood; three grandsons; one granddaughter and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 2, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the McCall Memorial Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home, Marion. Rev. Harold Webb and Bruce Ward officiated and burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family received friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 310 College Place, Building D, Asheville, NC 28801.
