Floyd Beam, 76, of Marion, died Wednesday, November 7, 2001 at The McDowell Hospital. Born November 22, 1924 in Mitchell County to the late Oliver D. and Ellie Twiggs Beam, he was retired from Impact Furniture Co. He is preceded in death by a brother, Frank Beam, Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Waycaster Beam; a daughter, Deborah Gray, of Morganton; four sons: Paul, Steven, Michael and Jerry Beam, all of Marion; two sisters: Lucy Burleson of Spruce Pine and Molly Helms of Baltimore, MD; a brother, Albert Beam of Baltimore, MD; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 am on Saturday, November 10, 2001 at Westmoreland Chapel. The Rev. Tim Dockery officiated and burial was in McDowell Memorial Park. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of McDowell County 218 Logan St. Marion, NC 28752. Westmoreland Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
