Carmen Virginia Dale Sherlin Honeycutt, age 71, of Sugar Hill Road, died Friday (April 21, 2000) in Memorial Mission Hospital, Asheville. Born in Buncombe County to the late Marion C. and Emma Phenix Sherlin, she was a retired employee of Southern Devices and a member of Cross Mill Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include her husband, Arville Honeycutt; two sons, Buddy Dale of Pageland, SC and Tommy Fail of Rutherfordton; five daughters, Barbara Jean Davis of Rutherfordton, Mary Jean Hudgins of Burnsville, Elizabeth Ann Wilson of Old Fort, Linda Kay Buchanan and Alice Faye Penland both of Marion; one brother, Edward Sherlin of Marion; one sister, Hazel Freedle of Lexington; twenty two grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, at 2 p.m. at Cross Mill Pentecostal Holiness Church. Rev. Taylor Latham officiated and burial followed in the McDowell Memorial Park. The family received friends Sunday from 7 until 8:30 at Kirksey Funeral Home, Marion.
