Della Fay Nichols Jones, 77, of Marion, died Friday December 14, 2001 at Autumn Care of Marion. Born March 28, 1924, in McDowell County to the late Paul Vernon and Grace Lusk Nichols, she was retired from Old Fort Finishing and was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford G. Jones.
Survivors include her brother, Charles “Pete” Nichols of Marion; and two sisters: Mary Finley and Naomi Jones, both of Marion.
A memorial service was held at 2 pm on Monday, December 17, 2001 at Westmoreland Chapel. The Rev. George Roberson officiated and burial was in McDowell Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Providence United Methodist Church Providence Church Rd. Glenwood, NC 28737; or Hospice of McDowell County 218 Logan St. Marion, NC 28752. Westmoreland Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
