Addie Young Causby, 83, of Marion, died Thursday, January 3, 2002 at his residence. Born May 15, 1918, in Rutherford County to the late Mills Brodus and Sallie Largent Causby, he was retired from Marion Oil Company and was a World War II veteran, having served in the US Navy. He was also a member of Vein Mountain Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and former Treasurer and Trustee. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Wellborn Causby, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Surviving include four sons: Mills Causby of Elizabethtown, TN, Fred, Bill and Roy Causby, all of Marion; four daughters: Betty Moore of Rutherfordton, NC, Catherine C. Deaton and Nancy Shuford, both of Marion, and Jodi Wright, of Nebo; Mamie Goins, of Rutherfordton; 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Vein Mountain Baptist Church on Sunday, January 6, 2002. The Revs. Barry Gouge and Ralph Gouge officiated and burial was in Vein Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Vein Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Nancy Causby 288 Maple Ave. Marion, NC 28752. Westmoreland Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
