Debbie Padgett Johnson, 44, of Marion, died Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at Memorial Mission Hospital. Born February 27, 1957 in Yancey County to Harry D. Padgett of Marion, and the late Helen Truett Padgett, she was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tony Dale Johnson.
Survivors other than her father, include her daughter, Heather Johnson Lanning of Old Fort; two sisters: Judy P. Reed and Hattie P. Hollifield, both of Marion; a brother, Dee Padgett, of Marion; two grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, January 24, 2002 at Westmoreland Chapel. The Rev. Ronnie Gentry officiated. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Westmoreland Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
