A3- Thompson Neel (father of #B2) (farmer)
Born: 1822 into family of Reece Price of Steele Creek. Will of Reece
Price dated 4 Sept. 1834, probated 1837: “to my daughter, Mary Ann
Price, the negro Rachel Caroline & her child and the boy Tomson”.
Later a codicill to the will in 1836 states: “give to my daughter Mary
Ann the negro William Henry, son of Rachel Caroline”. Thompson
went with Mary Anne into her marriage with Alexander Grier Neel.
Marriage bond for Mary Anne & Alexander G. Neel dated 9 Oct.1839.
Bondsman was James B. Knox. Mary Ann Price Neel died Feb.11,1848.
Thompson was released from the Neel’s in 1865.
