Dear folks,
Am still searching for any information on a Hugh Hamilton and family who
moved from York County, PA to Cabarrus County on Coddle in 1770 where he
bought 231 acres there from James Dyzart. With Hugh were wife Margaret
DICKSON and sons James, b: 29 Sep 1761;John b: 1765, William b:1794 and Hugh
Jr. b: unk. All sons were born in York or Lancaster County PA. He is
believed to have died after being injured helping a neighbor build a house
or barn and have found no record of a burial place but was probably on his
property there. Son James went on and took part in the Rev. war and was
captured by the English. John, my line, provided supplies and provisions to
the revolutionary army and both John and James are listed in the DAR
Patriots list..
I know it is a long shot but if anyone has any information on this family I
would certainly appreciate their sharing it with me. If anyone is
interested I will be happy to share what I have on this family with others.
I reside in Mesquite, TX and can be reached at
Thanks.
Ray Hamilton
