This Davis family is listed in the 1850 Paw Creek District, Mecklenburg
county census on page 27.

John Davis age 20 farmer NC
Catherine Davis age 22 NC
William Davis age 18 NC
George Davis age 16 NC
Sarah Davis age 12 NC
Thomas Davis age 10 NC
Alonzo Davis age 7 NC

I am trying to rule in or out whether this is the John and Catherine Davis
I am looking for. My Catherine was born 1828. My John and Catharine Davis
had a daughter Mary Ann in 1853 and a son Joseph Gracen in 1856 in NC.
In 1862 the family was in Tennessee and had a son William Jasper. In 1872
Catharine and children were in Clark county, IL without John.

Does anyone know anything about this Davis family in the Mecklenburg census
or the family I am looking for? I would appreciate hearing from all Davis
researchers in Mecklenburg.
