According to the Mecklenburg County Court Minutes, in July 1796, Sarah Corum, an orphan of William Corum, deceased was bound to John Sloan to learn the art of mystery of spinster until 18 years of age, being now 6 years old. Sarah Corrum was also the witness to John Sloan's will in 1809 and a legatee in the Margaret Sloan will 1815. Could this be the same Sarah Corrum? A man by the name of William Corrum died ca 1794 and an inventory & sale of his estate was presented January Crt by Abigail Corum & Alexander Porter, executors. The will of William Corum, dated 17 Sep 1794 and probated October 1794 (Will Bk. A page 167) has sons: Jesse, James, Robert. Wife: Abigail and daughters Elizabeth, Sarah and Mary. The parents of William Corum were still living. Witnesses: John Nichleson & James Porter

P.S. Researchers of Mecklenburg County, NC cannot thank Herman Ferguson enough for the wonderful record books he has published.
