List,

At tonight's meeting of the Olde Mecklenburg Genealogical Society ,
www.rootsweb.com/~ncomgs , it was pointed out that a good resource after
1850 is the records maintained by the various Railroad companies. Of
particular importance to Mecklenburg is the records of the Southern Railway
System.

The Railroad Retirement Board at www.rrb.gov has a genealogical section that
provides a lot of information since its inception in 1937 and has links to
many pages containing "online" data prior to that time.

I will be adding the RRB link to the main page at www.rootsweb.com/~ncmeckle
but thought y'all may be interested now.

Regards,

Paul Buckley
