I need a birth certificate lookup and unfortunately need it in a hurry. A
relative of mine went for her marriage license. She was told she has to
obtain her father's birth certificate and identify his "real" name. As a young
man, he dropped part of his middle name and lived by the name he chose. I
have written and emailed the Mecklenburg Co office which handles birth
certificates, but have had no response. Unfortunately, she needs it quickly in order
to not have to postpone her wedding. She did not have this problem at her
first wedding. Unfortunately, I don't live in the Mecklenburg County area and
can not go to the court house in person to request the birth certificate or
to search for it.

If anyone has any suggestions or will be at the courthouse this week and
could do a look up, I would be very appreciative.

The information needed is on
Howard Mack Spivey (possibly with middle name McIntosh or Macklin/Maclin)
(He is reported to have not liked his middle name and changed it as a
young man)
McIntosh was the middle name of his great grandfather and uncle as well as
his gtgt grandmother's maiden name so I think that is most likely the middle
name he was born with.

b. 01-07-1907
believed to be born in Matthews area.
Son of Walter Temple Spivey (of Moore Co) and his wife, Mattie Sturgeon
Spivey.
Mattie was previously married to a Flennakin(sp?) prior to this marriage but
her first husband died.

Mattie Reed Sturgeon was the daughter of Cyrus Sturgeon and wife Sarah
Kirkpatrick Sturgeon of Mecklenburg Co

Any suggestions on how to obtain this quickly would be appreciated.
