Subject: [NCMECKLE-L] Samuel Alexander c.1784 Mecklenburg County
Mecklenburg List:
I am still looking for any clues regarding Samuel Alexander who died in
1784 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. His will named wife Sarah,
daughters Mary and Sarah as well as five youngest children named Esther,
Margaret, Martha, Elizabeth, and James. Witnesses were John Alcorn and
James McCaleb/McKillip. Executors were Samuel Pickens and the widow Sarah
Alexander. I believe the widow Sarah moved on to Madison/Garrard County,
Kentucky by 1789.
I believe this family lived on the Rocky River in an area that may be
Cabarrus County today (probably not far from the Poplar Tent Church).
Does anyone have any information on this family? I am including
individuals named in his estate settlement below (in hopes that information
on one of these individuals may help in determining information about
Samuel Alexander or his widow Sarah).
Thanks in advance for your assistance!
