Susan,
Your Julia Hensley Bailey was an older sister of Mattie
Hensley/Hensley. Mattie was abt 11 yrs old when her father, Amos Madison
Hensley, died in 1872. She is on the 1880 census of Mitchell Co, living in
the household of J. Wesley Bailey and her sister Julia and is listed as J.
Wesley's sister-in-law. On Mattie's death certificate it lists her father
as Madison Hensley and her mother as Lou Rainey. Her mother is buried with
Amos in the Green Mountain Cemetery, McDowell Co, and her name is shown as
Lurany Hensley. I've been in contact with another researcher from this
family, she also believes that her maiden name was Biggerstaff and that she
came from Rutherford Co.
I have the names and birth dates of all of Amos Hensley's
children. If you don't already have them let me know and I will send them
to you.
