I have searched for many years, for the time of death ,cause of death, and place of burial of an ancestor and so far have had no result.If anyone on this list can help me, i would appreciate it.
My gr-gr grand father JOHN MILTON (JACKIE) MCCLELLAN born: 1902 in N.C.
I have found him on some census, the last time was the year 1900,living in the household of his son JOHN MCCLELLAN and daughter in law HANNAH JOHNSON MCCLELLAN, and gives his age as 99 years old. From that time on, i find nothing. I know that there are relatives to this day who are living in MITCHELL COUNTY,but who do not respond to inquiries. I do not understand why not.I dont want anything more than information concerning my mothers genealogy and mine. I am not writing a book, or preparing to make money from this research. My intent is to know from whom i came,and to pass that information on to my children.
What little i have learned is this.
JOHN MILTON MCCLELLAN dropped the name JOHN and used only MILTON on some documents, like census.He was sometimes known as JACKIE. His occupation (cooper)-(barrel maker) The surname name has been
spelled MCCLELON, on some sensus years.Marriage to NARCISSA (NARKIE) COLLENS
January 23, 1825 in CABARRUS COUNTY N.C. I have found them on census of MCDOWELL CO. N.C. and then GRASSY CREEK TOWNSHIP MITCHELL CO. N.C.

THOMAS MCCLELLAN 1826
AMZI H. MCCLELLAN 1828
CATHERINE MCCLELLAN 1828
JOSEPH W. MCCLELLAN 1833
MARGARET J. MCCLELLAN 1839 my gr-grandmother-married
BENJAMIN FRANKLIN FREEMAN
JOHN F.MCCLELLAN 1841 married HANNAH JOHNSON
NARSES MATILDA MCCLELLAN 1848 married ELI JOHNSON brother of
HANNAH JOHNSON.

GEORGE MCCLELLAN 1850

NARCISSA (NARKIE) COLLLENS MCCLELLAN born: 1805 was last found on the
MITCHELL CO. N.C. census of 1850.She apparently died sometime before the census of 1860 because that shows MILTON as widower with four of the children at home.No information can be found as to when she died or where she was buried. I find no trace of CATHERINE and AMZI.
? Where would my ancestors have been buried-what cemetary at the time?What church had a cemetary at the time--1850---1900 .How can i obtain records of death for those years?
Does anyone have a family Bible with those entries? If so, will you please share with me?
