Newton Thomas married Matilda Buchanan, daughter of Marvel Buchanan and Judy
McKinney (dau of Reuben Mckinney). Her siblings were Alfonzo William
(Fonzer) married Minny McCourry, Fanny (Married Grover Greene) and Tommy, my
grandfather, married Lelia Randolph. Newt and Matilda had one son, Herbert,
married Fron Ward, and they had one son, Floyd, married Roda Ayres, dau
Charlene, and married Hattie Thomas, one son Dwight. Newt, and later Herb,
and later Floyd all ran a store at Glen Ayre, (Bakersville) NC 28705
