Hi, Brenda! I am related to the Manning and Pridgen families of Nash
Co., NC several ways!
Joseph Manning was the son of John Manning, Jr. and Lavice Lyle. He
married first Gincy Stott Griffin and had two children: Joe Turner
Manning, and Flora Manning. Gincy died circa 1873. He then married
Jane Pope and had several children. At first I thought Gincy and
Jane were the same person, but they are not.
This family lived in the Bailey area of Nash Co. and the Old Fields
area of Wilson Co.
I have no ties, other than by marriage, to the Griffin family, so I
have not done any research on them. Hope this helps a little.
Always,
Al
