Hello Dora:

I just visited your Taylors in Edgecombe/Nash page and believe the Dempsey
Taylor listed as son of Reuben may be the same as below. Have included the
little I have on this family (sorry, hardly any dates!). It is my
understanding, that Dempsey and Mary Screws married and he later
"legitmized" their two firstborn sons.

Do you have any more information on Dempsey and/or his decendants??

and Labon Screws, agreeable
to an act of the General Assembly, to Tarlton Taylor and Labon Taylor.

Dempsey TAYLOR and Mary SCREWS (dau of Henry Screws and Lydia Mary SAUL) had
the following children:

I. Tarleton SCREWS TAYLOR.

II. Labon/Laborne SCREWS TAYLOR.

Labon/Laborne SCREWS TAYLOR was married to Sally A. ARRINGTON on 4 Apr
1849 in Nash Co, N C.

III. Dempsey Calvin TAYLOR. Possibly the Dempsey Taylor who md Louisa
Pace, 5 Apr 1843, Nash Co, NC??

IV. Lucinda TAYLOR.

V. Polly TAYLOR.
