Below is a post to me from a Pridgen/Pridgeon researcher who happens to be
Black. We are having a bit of difficulty getting past his ancestor Glascoe
Pridgen. In the meantime, he has decided to add Bullocks to his research.
It is Nash County, at least in the 1870s.
Keith can be reached at the above address.Thanks.
Carol

I just need to get this information out there. I know that I am
working on the Pridgeon/Pridgen Family. I
am in kind of a bind now, see I must be getting kind
of desperate. Since I can't find Glascoe Pridgeon's parents, I
might as well see if I can locate the Bullocks. Glascoe
first marriage was to Hanna Bullock and after she died, he kept in
touch with her family. My reason for this, in the second marriage for
Glascoe Hanna's
brother Allen Bullock was one of the witnesses.
However, I did find Hanna's parents with her living in
the household. The following info shows this. The
info was taken from the 1870 Census.
Bullock, Lawrence b 45 N.C. $300 personal worth
'' Chany (w) b 35 ''
'' Hannah d b 16 '' Glasco's 1st wife
'' William s b 12 ''
'' Lucy d b 9 ''
'' Allen s b 6 '' witness of Glascoe's
2nd marriage
'' Elizabeth d 5 ''
'' Janny d 2 ''
There were other Bullocks found and I will send them to you later
today for I have to go back to work, break time over! So if you could
just pass this on to
anyone that might be researching the Bullocks . I would like to see if
there family has the same info and if they knew of the Pridgens.
Thanks a lot, Keith
