Hello, my name is JoAnne and I reside in Canada. I am looking for info on a Ralph MERRYMAN b: Aug 14 1918

On his SSDI it has

Ralph Merryman 14 Aug 1918 Sep 1983 Wilmington, New Hanover, North Carolina District of Columbia (Before 1951)

Does this mean he applied in 1951 ?

On the NC Death Record it has

North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
North Caroline Death Records

Ralph Anthony MERRYMAN died at the age of 65 years on 15 SEP 1983 in Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina

I know he resided in Niagara Falls, NY before he moved to NC with his mate Frances SIVERTSEN. I am trying to find out when he moved to NC. I am wondering if maybe he moved home to NC when he got ill. I have been unable to find him in the city directories in New Hanover,SC. Frances moved to Canada after Ralph`s death in 1983.

Is there a death index for surnames in SC that someone could lookup for me ? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what my next move should be ? I am housebound so any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thankyou kindly. JoAnne
