How about some specifics such as dates and places, spouse's name, parents, children???

As posted your inquiry is so broad as to be unaddressable (if there is such a word).

There are a few Long families among the Cherokee, but a 4th great grandfather seems like he might have lived early to mid 19th century or even earlier. And without some dates and geography, and at least either parents' or spouse's names, trying to match your person's name to a known A-I is not really feasible.
